In order to get your docs reviewed and approved as quickly as possible, please follow the guidelines below. This will help you avoid document rejection or suspension from the ViaVan platform. As a Driver Partner, it is your responsibility to provide correct driver and vehicle documents as well as to comply with TfL requirements for private hire drivers in London.
Profile Image
A profile image is both a requirement from TfL, while also helping riders identify you. Profile Image Requirements:
- Choose a plain background with good lighting!
- Make sure you’re not wearing anything on top of your head (unless it is for religious reasons) or glasses that cover your face.
- Be the only individual in the picture.
- Avoid selfies: ask a friend to take the picture for you – it will look a lot more professional.
- Make sure to zoom-in so that your face and shoulders are in the picture.
- Make sure the image is clear and not blurry, grainy, or fuzzy.
Driving Licence
Take a clear picture of your UK or EEA Plastic Driving Licence and make sure your license is up-to-date. Driving Licence Requirements:
- Full name should match your name on the PCO.
- Address should match your address on the PCO.
- Image should be clear and not blurry.
- Licence number and expiration date are clear and readable.
TfL Professional Driver Licence (PCO)
Take a clear picture of your PCO. PCO contains your driver photo. PCO Requirements:
- Licence is up-to-date.
- Full name should match your name on your driving licence.
- Address should match your address on your driving licence.
- Image, license number, and expiration date should be clear and not blurry.
TfL Professional Vehicle Licence (PHV)
Take a clear picture of your PHV. PHV does not contain driver photo. PHV Requirements:
- License is up-to-date.
- Vehicle number plate, VIN, owner name and address match Logbook exactly.
- Image should be clear and not blurry.
- License number and expiration date are clear and readable.
Vehicle Logbook
Please see here for a list of a few accepted types of Vehicle Logbooks:
- Issued prior to April 15, 2019 (page 2 of v5c form).
- Issued after April 15, 2019 (pages 2-3 of v5c form).
- Issued for leased vehicles.
Take a clear picture of your Vehicle Logbook (UK Registration Certificate v5c). Vehicle Logbook Requirements:
- Vehicle number plate, VIN, registered keeper name & address must be listed and must match PHV exactly.
- Registration year should be 2010 or newer.
- All information and images should be clear and readable.
- If you have more than one page of of Logbook to submit, take one picture of both documents and upload as a single file.
MOT Inspection Certificate
Take a clear picture of your MOT inspection certificate. MOT Requirements:
- Image and all information should be clear and readable.
- Vehicle number plate on MOT certificate must match PHV, and Logbook exactly.
- Vehicle must have passed the inspection
- The certificate must be issued in line with TfL requirements. TfL requires a new MOT when granting a new PHV, and another MOT 6 months after the PHV start date.
- If your vehicle was less than 12 months old when it was last registered as a PHV, you do not need an MOT.
- Number plate on MOT certificate must match PHV and Logbook exactly.

Vehicle Insurance
Take a clear picture of your Vehicle Insurance. Vehicle Insurance Requirements:
- Image and all information should be clear and readable.
- Your insurance must be in date.
- Your name and vehicle number plate number should be clearly listed. If they are not, please submit an additional document noting these points.
- Vehicle number plate matches Logbook and PHV.
- If you have more than one page of evidence, take one picture of both documents and upload as a single file.
- NOTE: The example included here may appear differently than your own insurance document.
Insurance Supporting Document(s)
If your name doesn’t appear on your Insurance Certificate and you are insured with Haven, please provide the following:

- Insurance Certificate.
- Vehicle Policy schedule that includes your vehicle number plate.
- Driver policy schedule that includes your name, or driver permission letter that includes your name, vehicle number plate and insurance policy number.
If your name doesn’t appear on your insurance certificate and you are insured with a provider other than Haven, please provide one of the following: a hire agreement, permission letter or policy schedule. Additional Insurance Documents Requirements:
